How do I know which size to buy?

I am between sizes, which size should I buy?
The fit of our boots depends very much on the shape of your foot and how you like to wear your footwear. There are some considerations to help with your decision:
Lining – over time, neoprene will give a little, as will wool. Leather will mold to your foot and stretch a tiny bit, but jersey will remain true to size.
Socks - Please consider your choice of socks when deciding on your size. If you usually wear thick socks with your boots, you may prefer to go up a size, or half size.
Your personal taste – Some of us like our footwear snug, others with a little give.
I have wide calves – do you offer larger calf sizes?

Our Vierzon and Vierzonord boots have an adjustable gusset with a tightening strap and snap-fastening buckle, giving you more flexibility and a perfect calf fit for you every time you wear them.

I have narrow calves, do you have boots suitable for me?
Our Chasseur boot is available in a narrow calf fitting, both in men’s and women’s styles. Our Vierzon and Vierzonord boots have an adjustable gusset with a tightening strap and snap-fastening buckle. This style is popular with narrow and wider calves due to its flexible sizing and comfort.

How do I measure my calves?
1. Sit on a chair with your foot and leg bare, your foot relaxed and flat on the floor and your knee bent at a 90-degree angle.
2. Find the widest point of your calf using a tape measure and measure round that point keeping your foot flat on the floor.
3. Add 2cm to this measurement to account for your trousers/jeans, a thick pair of socks, and some breathing space.

I want to wear my boots with thick socks, do I go up a size?
Our boots are built to size, without accounting for socks, so you may prefer to go up a size, or half size to account for socks. Please be sure to check the detailed size guide on the product page, as well as considering the width of your foot and size of your ankle and calf. Unisex styles in our rubber will have more room in these areas.
Does the lining make a difference to the size I choose?
Our boots are designed to fit correct to size, regardless of the lining. There may be marginal changes over time depending on the lining, which are worth considering if you are between sizes: Over time, neoprene will give a little, as will wool. Leather will mold to your foot and stretch a tiny bit, but jersey will remain true to size.
