How to measure your calf

Follow these steps to find your calf size. If you have any questions our customer service team are here to assist.

1. Dress as usual

Wear the socks and trousers you’d normally tuck into your wellies.

2. Sit and position your leg

Sit with your foot flat on the floor and knee at a 90° angle.

3. Measure your calf

Wrap a tape measure around the widest part of your calf over your clothing. Measure both legs and use the larger number.

4. Add room (if needed)

For extra layers or comfort, add up to 2 cm.

How to measure your foot

1. Prepare

Stand on a hard floor with a blank sheet of paper under your socked foot, heel against a wall or straight edge. Stand upright with weight evenly distributed.

2. Trace

Use a pen or pencil to trace around your foot (or mark the heel and tip of your longest toe). Keep the pen upright and close to your foot.

3. Measure

Measure from the heel to the longest toe. If one foot is longer, use that measurement.

4. Find your size

Match your foot length to our Le Chameau size chart. If between sizes, go up — it’s easier to add socks than stretch boots.

Wie bei allen Le Chameau Gummistiefeln wird auch das Modell Saint-Hubert Heritage von einem einzigen Schuhmachermeister von Hand gefertigt. Die dazu nötigen Techniken wurden von einer Generation in die nächsteweitergereicht. Der Saint-Hubert Heritage hat dank seiner schmalen, eleganten Form einen hohen Wiedererkennungswert. Dieses Modell ist das meistverkaufte Modell in Frankreich. Dieser Stiefel ist in 8verschiedenen Schaftweiten erhältlich.

Product care

Reinigen Sie Ihre Stiefel nur mit Wasser und einer Bürste.
Lassen Sie Ihre Stiefel an der Luft trocknen.
Verwenden Sie ein Silikonspray und polieren Sie mit einem weichen, trockenen Tuch.
Bewahren Sie Ihre Stiefel an einem trockenen und belüfteten Ort auf, fern von direkter Sonneneinstrahlung und Wärmequellen.
Wenn Ihre Stiefel nass werden, trocknen Sie das Futter gründlich, bevor Sie sie wieder verwenden. Zerknülltes Zeitungspapier hilft dabei.
Wenn Sie Ihre Stiefel für längere Zeit einlagern, reinigen Sie sie gründlich und bewahren Sie sie vor direkter Sonneneinstrahlung geschützt an einem kühlen, trockenen Ort auf.

In 1927, in a seaside village in Normandy, France, Claude Chamot had a desire to create the most comfortable and best-fitting rubber boots. Now, almost 100 years later, Monsieur Chamot’s vision continues. Heritage and history imbues each and every pair of Le Chameau boots that pass through the hands of time-served craftsmen.

Discover Our Heritage

Our Rubber

The quality of rubber depends on several factors, including season (spring is best), climate purity, and tree health. Le Chameau uses only Grade A rubber — light in colour with low ash and dirt content. Our unique formula, based on Claude Chamot’s original recipe, creates the soft, supple and durable Chamolux rubber used in all our boots.

Building the sole

Across all variants of our soles, the base sole is made by adding the formula of rubber to the bottom of a two-part mould. The mould is closed, put under pressure and cooked. As the rubber heats and spreads through the mould, it forms the shape of the sole. Different elements are then added to this process, depending on the style.

Preparing our lining

Our linings are prepared in a dedicated area of the workshop, using machinery to cut the large pattern pieces and following strict quality checks to ensure there are no flaws or errors. ⁠We provide a range of different linings, from insulating and comforting neoprene or wool to a premium supple leather and a lightweight fast-drying jersey.

Our people

The most critical element in our bootmaking process is our people. We are proud to have several generations of Maître bottiers in our Le Chameau family, a highly technical role which requires upwards of nine months of intensive training.
