With the polo ground perfectly mowed, glasses topped up with delicious Gusbourne wine, and our Nomade Chelsea boots firmly on for summer, where else to enjoy the best of the British summer but at Cowdray Park for the British Open Polo Championship Finals.

Located in the stunning grounds of Cowdray Park in the verdant South Downs National Park, this summer saw polo aficionados from all over the world descend on the estate to compete in the Cowdray Gold Cup, the premier polo tournament in Europe, with all the international stars of the game in action.

During the month-long festivities and championships, for one-week only guests were able to join our Le Chameau experience on the grounds where they were able to try on our entire range of our handmade boots. For its first ever adventure, we also had our Le Chameau branded Ineos Grenadier Quartermaster at our experience.

On the day of the Sunday Finals, we hosted a select few of our best customers and friends of Le Chameau to a bespoke, tailored event including a delicious three-course menu that was enjoyed over several bottles of Gusbourne’s finest sparkling wine in the Pearson Enclosure and the Lawn Enclosure, respectively.

The polo was an extremely tight game between two brilliant teams, battling it out to be win the prestigious Gold Cup. Congratulations to the Gaston Polo Team who won the St. Regis British Open Polo Championship for the Cowdray Gold Cup, beating the Dubai Polo Team 9–8 in the hugely thrilling and nail-biting final.

The Ladies Open final match was brilliantly clinched by Martina Lowe’s Yaguara with just a half point lead over Salty Polo to finish 7 goals to 6.5 whilst in the Gold Cup. The finalists were awarded wine from AIX en Provence, as well as gifts from tournament sponsors Le Chameau and Aspinal.
