The Story
In 1970 Le Chameau introduced a boot that was to become a legend in the field. Created by Le Chameau master of design Marc Longuet with the “hunter'' in mind, our iconic Chasseur boot was the first rubber boot to have a waterproof full length zip. Hand crafted exclusively by one single master boot maker, after a long and rigorous apprenticeship, each Chasseur boot is a unique creation, made with precision, craftsmanship and assembly techniques handed down from generation to generation.
Great boots and very comfortable.

Verified Reviewer Buying direct on-line from Le Chameau is easy and painless. Equally their returns process via Royal Mail is slick and quick. This is especially useful when trying to get the perfect fit. I originally ordered a size 9, 44cm calf fur lined Chasseur as that’s what I measured using the guidance however when the boot arrived I found that it was still quite tight around my calf and I wanted a looser fit, so returned and got the 46cm calf which is a perfect fit - absolutely love the fit and warmth of the boots. However whilst cleaning them after wearing them a couple of times whilst walking the dogs during the recent storms Isha & Jocelyn, I have to say I am somewhat disappointed given the fact that these boots are supposed to be the ‘Rolls Royce of wellington boots’, as I have noticed that the Le Chameau badge is not in the same position on both boots ie there is approximately a 10mm difference when measured horizontally from the end of the side strap. So not sure if I have been sold a pair of slight seconds albeit at full price, as I would have thought Le Chameau quality control would have picked up this ‘now’ obvious defect …!

Verified Reviewer Probably the warmest boots in the collection, warmer than the neoprene lined ones. Unfortunately the fit for the large calf sizes (I had a 46) are very wide low on the calf just above the ankles. Zippers are probably the best on any boot I ever tried. One thing to be aware off is that they are quite soft and don’t have a lot of structure in the foot section, other boots (Ariat for example) feel more secure. In exchange these have very soft and pliable rubber and feel like your favorite slippers.
