Master Bootmakers since 1927
Every pair of Le Chameau boots is truly unique. They are the only rubber boots to be handmade by a single master bootmaker. For more than 90 years, our time-served Maître bottiers have been using the highest quality materials and processes that combine traditional skills, passed from generation to generation, with technical innovation. In order to become a Maître bottier, every craftsman undertakes nine months of training.
The making of every Le Chameau rubber boot begins with the design and sourcing of materials. We pick only the finest ingredients; our natural rubber, our leathers and our linings are all of the highest quality. Our design teams explore new technologies and learn from our archives to ensure we continue to innovate while retaining timeless shapes and proven methods.
Our boots have all been handcrafted with comfort at the forefront for specific industries, ways of life, and seasons. For fieldsports and farming, where spending long days on your feet on wet and muddy terrain is par for the course, a supportive sole, like the Cross and Grip sole seen on classics like the Chasseur and Vierzonord, or the Michelin Agri sole seen on our Cérès, is a must.
For gardening and dog walking, our flexible and supple rubber allows ease of movement. Our boot linings include neoprene, which is comfort-rated to temperatures as low as -15°C, jersey which is lightweight and moisture-wicking to see you through long, hot summers, and leather, which moulds to your foot for year-round comfort.
