When “couture” meets our Master Bootmakers

The emblematic century-old fashion house Patou and Le Chameau present their collaboration around a boot and bottillon available in 2 colours: Noir and Lilas.

“Le Chameau, like Patou, is a French brand steeped in heritage with a pioneering vision.”

Guillaume Henry, artistic director of Patou

The meeting between the two fashion houses was so obvious: the common desire to celebrate the craftsmanship and know-how of the Master Bootmakers. Like all Le Chameau rubber boots, the styles created for this collaboration are made from natural rubber.

“At Patou, we are conscious of our environmental impact. Rubber is a natural, functional and long lasting material. The rubber wellington boot is a timeless fashion item!"
Guillaume Henry, artistic director of Patou

About Patou

Jean Patou founded his eponymous house in 1914. The First World War brought the house to an unexpected halt but he relaunched the brand successfully when he returned from the front. His shop on rue Saint-Florentin in Paris attracted the elite and high society, and celebrities of the time. Louise Brooks, Josephine Baker and Mistinguett were all seen wearing his dresses. One of his iconic products was the most expensive perfume in the world, ‘Joy’. After Jean Patou’s death in 1936, his sister and her husband took over the reins of the house but without its founder, the Jean Patou brand lost its aura.

Finally, Jean Patou was acquired in 2018 by LVMH group who named Guillaume Henry as Artistic Director. He opens a brand-new chapter in the history of the house. Developing a feminine ready-to-wear collection inspired by couture that’s both delicate and accessible, joyful, and refined, Patou continues to dress real women, friends, collaborators, muses – women he meets and the ones who inspire him. For them, Patou should be as it has always been, easy to wear, hard to forget!
