On Saturday 4th April, Oxford and Cambridge will take to the Thames again - with every rower stepping riverside in our iconic neoprene-lined Vierzonord boots ahead of the race.

Before any blade cuts water, our neoprene‑lined Vierzonord boots are there. Made from Chamolux, the premium, natural rubber we’ve been handcrafting our boots from since 1927. 

From concrete to current, from routine to reckoning, from step to stroke. This is the  story of University Rowers and Maître Bottiers sharing the same obsession - to repeat, refine, return and return again, until the ritual is locked in muscle memory.

Before the Tideway, there’s the workbench. Natural, Chamolux rubber shaped by hand, trusted to the eye and touch of a Maître Bottier.

After vulcanisation, every Vierzonord boot is submerged in a water bath, air forced inside, its surface watched for any flaw.

It’s our refusal to accept anything but perfection that earns us a place with the athletes on the river’s edge.
