In partnership with Royal Agricultural University Christmas Card Design Challenge ‘The Great British Countryside in Winter’   RAU students are invited to create an original design for the front of Le Chameau’s 2017 Christmas Card which will be sent out to over 200 clients, Partners and Stakeholders. PRIZE One pair of Le Chameau boots of your choice and 20 cards bearing the winning design   DESIGN BRIEF/RULES To create an inspirational portrayal of ‘The Great British Countryside in Winter’ with emphasis on a scene or setting where Le Chameau boots might typically be worn. You may wish to include dogs, game birds or any form of countryside wildlife but we would ask you to refrain from including any reference to shooting/hunting equipment. There is no requirement to make it obviously Christmassy but we would encourage you to evoke the season in all its quintessentially British glory. Any medium of design may be used i.e. watercolour, pencil, graphics Image files must be sent in 300dpi RGB JPEG format to be printed on A5 No photographs Artwork submitted must be in landscape format and 2Dimensional No collage, raised or relief works will be accepted One entry per person only Include a paragraph (50-word limit) about the image, what it is and what inspired it. Covers will be judged on their design as well as how well they fit the brief   HOW TO ENTER Please submit your design via email to with ‘Christmas Card Competition’ in the subject line. Please include your name, course and email address. Deadline for receiving designs is FRIDAY 24th NOVEMBER 2017. Any applications received after that time will unfortunately not be considered. The winner will be selected by Le Chameau’s CEO – David Robinson OBE - and contacted by email, after which time the winner and winning design will be announced and published on the RAU Facebook page and the Le Chameau website and social media portals.   TERMS & CONDITIONS The competition is open exclusively to current students of RAU. All images submitted must be the work of the individual submitting them and must not have been published elsewhere or have won a prize in any other related competition. It is the responsibility of each entrant to ensure that any design they submit does not infringe the copyright of any third party or any laws. Entrants must warrant that the design they are submitting is their own work and that they own the copyright for it. Copyright in all images submitted for this competition remains with the respective entrants. However, each entrant grants Le Chameau UK Ltd the right to use their image on a Christmas card as well as in any of their publications, their websites and/or in any promotional material connected to this competition or the organisation. The entrant also accepts that no costs and no fee will be paid by Le Chameau for using the image, but the name of the designer will feature on the card. The winning entry will be the image that is judged to be the most visually appealing, original and self-explanatory. The winner will be notified within 1 week of the closing date of the competition. The winning entrant will be supplied with 2 packs (each of 10 cards) of their winning design, free of charge. Prizes are non-transferable and there are no cash alternatives.
