To keep your Le Chameau boots fresh, here are five simple ways to look after your wellies.
Consistent wellington boot care is the best way to keep your Le Chameau boots in good condition all year round. Follow our boot care advice to discover the best way to clean wellies so that yours are ready to wear when the bad weather arrives.
1. Use Our Rubber Spray
Our 80ml silicone spray has been designed specifically to clean Le Chameau wellies as the formula nurtures our unique Chamolux rubber blend.
All you have to do to keep your boots fresh is spray the wellington all over the exterior after each wear and buff it with a clean cloth. This will help to keep your boot’s signature suppleness and flexibility.
2. Use Our Care Sponge
This sponge has been designed to keep rubber boots in good condition. Consider using our care sponge with the above rubber spray for the best kind of wellington boot care.
However, as the sponge is pre-treated, it can also be used to clean and buff your boots without it.
It’s small enough to fit in a bag so that you can give your wellies a quick once-over after any wear.
Using These Products Together:
If you’re going to clean your wellies with both our rubber spray and care sponge, here is how we recommend using them.
First, remove any dried mud using a stiff brush. Then, polish out any stains with your care sponge, making sure to get beneath the buckles.
Finish off by lubricating the rubber to ensure the boot remains supple and flexible. To do this, apply a generous amount of rubber spray all over the boot, then buff it in using a cloth.
3. Boot Bag
Our large wellington boot bag has been created to fit even our tallest boot options.
Keep your boots fresh by storing them in this protective carrier which features a zip opening, secure top handle and ventilation netting.
This sturdy, durable bag is perfect for keeping your wellies safe from the damp, but it also protects your car from the sand or dirt that has covered your boots on your latest walk. Just remember to carry out your boot care duties when you get home to prolong their lifespan.
4. Boot Remover
It can be too tempting to pull off your wellies using either the toes of your other boot or a doorstep. However, this can cause serious damage to the heel of the boot, resulting in the wearing down of the rubber and eventually tears.
Our wooden boot jack has been designed to easily and gently remove boots so they can be kept in the best condition.
5. Storing Your Wellies
Although rubber is known to crack after long periods of time, you can delay this by storing your wellies correctly. To keep your boots fresh, keep them upright in a cool, dry area such as a garage or porch. Consider keeping them out of direct sunlight as far as possible as this can cause the rubber to become brittle and deteriorate.
Also, to prevent them from bending, consider stuffing your boots with newspaper or old tea towels when you’re not wearing them. Not only will this stop them from creasing, but it’s also a much better way to dry them out as direct heat sources, such as an Aga or fire, can cause serious damage to the rubber.
