Le Chameau x National Trust: A Natural Connection

As the warm, rusty hues start to decorate the land and the sweet scent of log fires begin to drift in, this Autumn season, exceptional things are happening as the world’s finest Wellington boots meet Europe’s largest conservation charity.   

Ignited by a mutual respect for quality and craftsmanship and shared dedication to the outdoors, this Autumn launches the new Le Chameau x National Trust  collaboration. This unique collaboration brings together two pioneers of the outdoors that have encouraged generations to explore and immerse themselves in the beauty of nature.   

To celebrate both Le Chameau’s and the National Trust’s dedication to heritage, innovation and responsibility, we are proud to announce our most sustainable product yet, the exclusive Le Chameau x  National Trust Vierzon boot.  

In celebration of the unique collaboration, Le Chameau and the National Trust proudly introduce the Le Chameau x National Trust Vierzon boot  — a reimagining of the French Maison’s iconic Wellington.  

Handcrafted by master bootmakers to ensure unparalleled resilience and comfort with our signature streamlined elegance, this limited-edition style pays tribute to the collaboration’s founding principles with Vert Chêne. A tribute to the oak — National Trust’s emblem of timelessness and tradition — Vert Chêne marks the union between two outdoor communities and a rich new addition to Le Chameau’s palette of iconic greens.  

 The Le Chameau x National Trust Vierzon boot  is a true evolution; it has a redesigned insole, made from recycled materials, which features an activated carbon foam. The insole is removable, antistatic and antibacterial, making them supremely comfortable and warm; every pair of boots are built around an aluminium last for the perfect shape; and each feature an adjustable waterproof gusset with snap-fastening buckle made from 100% recycled materials, and strap made from 100% recycled polyester from post-consumer bottles. The shock-absorbing dual-density grip outsole prevents fatigue, resists abrasion and is suitable for all terrains.  

Blending innovation with historical references, and with sustainability in mind, these boots have an exclusive monogram lining, which we’ve called Écho. 

During the entire process of designing the Le Chameau x  National Trust Vierzon boot, our design team were fortunate enough to have access to the National Trust’s archive. Inspired by the patterns in architectural details of properties within the Trust’s care, combined with the rich tapestry of textiles and patterns found throughout them, it was important for us to evoke our shared appreciation of historical art and design.  

Stemming from the ‘C’ in Le Chameau, as the foundational element to develop this exclusive monogram lining, the design also honours modernity with its simplified graphic and considered two-way lining, different colours for both male and female.   

Inspired by the architecture of Buckland Abbey in Devon, the exclusive Écho print pays homage to a cherished National Trust location. Accenting Vierzon’s organic cotton-rich jersey lining, the monogram reflects the ongoing work of the National Trust in preserving the history and natural spaces of England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

The Le Chameau x National Trust Vierzon boot  is our most sustainable boot yet, reflecting the values of Europe’s largest conservation charity, the National Trust. One example that we have incorporated into this new product is our Écho print pattern, which has been designed so it can be printed in any direction minimising any wastage of fabric when cut. 

Le Chameau follows principles set out by the Ethical Trading Initiative and the Fairtrade Foundation. We comply with all relevant packaging regulations and use recycled materials wherever possible. We support any environmental claims (for instance, recyclable, compostable, made with...) with evidence and meet Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) standards. 

We supply an ethical audit using an internationally recognised standard, such as a SEDEX or SMETA audit for all factories used in the production process that are outside of the EU, USA, AU/NZ. We don’t accept products where suppliers are unwilling or able to share details required about their source and production process.
